Abstract
Üniversiteler bulundukları kentin sosyo-ekonomik gelişmişliğinde payı olan önemli kurumlardandır. Üniversitelerin kente bilimsel katkıları ile beraber öğrencilerinin kent içerisindeki harcamalarından kaynaklanan ekonomik katkıları da söz konusudur. Bunların yanında üniversitelerin ve öğrencilerinin kent nüfusu üzerinde sosyo-kültürel etkileri de olmaktadır. Bu etkenlerden dolayı son yıllarda birçok kentte yeni üniversiteler kurulmuş ve mevcut üniversitelerin de öğrenci sayılarında artış olmuştur. Öğrencilerinin kente olan bu etkilerinin yanı sıra bu kentlerin de öğrenciler üzerinde farklı etkileri söz konusudur. Kentin ekonomik yapısı, istihdam imkânları, doğal güzellikleri, iklimi, ulaşım ve barınma imkânları ile sosyo-kültürel yapısı öğrencileri etkileyen önemli unsurlardır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’nin önemli turistik kentlerinden biri olan ve bünyesinde bir devlet bir de vakıf üniversitesi bulunduran Alanya’nın kentte bulunan üniversite öğrencileri üzerindeki sosyo-ekonomik etkilerinden bahsedilmiştir.
