Abstract

Early childhood special education (ECSE) in Turkey is services which provide education for 0-6 aged children with special needs and at risk group in special education schools, preschool/preschool classroom and children's home when needed. The purpose of this study is to review and calculate the effect size of ECSE studies which conducted with single subject designs in Turkey. The studies are reviewed and examined in the context of the participants, independent/dependent variables, settings, observing and recording technique, research designs, validity and reliability ve percentage of nonoverlapping data (PND). A total of 15 ECSE studies which meet criteria are identified to review. The mean PND of all studies are calculated as %84.8 and %86,66 of all studies are identified as “very effective and effective interventions” according to rating scale. Suggestions for further research are discussed in various contexts.
