The district is bounded by Erzincan-Kemaliye, Sivas-Divriği, Tunceli Çemişgezek and Elazığ-Ağın. The historical depth and geographical location of the district brings with it a cultural richness. Along with the rock tombs and historical buildings, Arapgir has a cultural repertoire. The lack of a comprehensive study on folk songs in the district has been the most important factor driving us to work here. In our field research we had the chance to detect 51 folk songs. As a result of the analysis of the detected songs, we aimed to determine the musical structure of Arapgir. For this purpose, we wanted to make comparison with other regions in later studies.
