In this study, in the work of Orhan Kemal’s “On Fertile Lands” how the migration phenomenon is handled and the extent of alienation will be probed. Acceleration of the industrialisation in the 1950’s, beginning of the migration from village to city and the tragic event of the migrants, migrating to Çukurova Region, especially being one of the production line and having the heaviest demand to internal migration, will be examined. How handled 1950’s Turkey in the work, to which negative situations the migrants, who are forced to migrate as a consequence of economic trouble, are exposed in the process of industrialisation, why and how the migrants are marginalised, will be determined in the context of sociological criticism.
